The Male is in the Czech….and the Stick is up the ass…..CLEARLY.
Well if I didn’t
think our fair city was full of uptight, ignorant to the world people
before, I do now. Q104 FM’s contest, “The Male is in the Czech”,
has been criticized continually since it started. I’ve been hearing things like “Human trafficking”,
and “Objectification”. First of all let’s
get a few things straight.
Human Trafficking: “an
act of recruiting, transporting, transferring, harboring or receiving a person
through a use of force, coercion or other means, for the purpose of exploiting
them”
So forgive me if am not as smart as all of those who seem
to think that the Q is trafficking. They
are paying for the guy to go to the Czech Republic. He goes on dates, and the
pair MUTUALLY decide if they like each other. She isn’t being shipped here in a
box, told to love him or else, and tied to the stove with a 10 foot leash to
the bedroom. It has
been PROVEN that the Q is in partnership with a LEGITIMATE international Dating
Agency. So those of you who want to use
the word trafficking for what the Q is doing… I have two words for ya…..
GOOGLE IT!
Next, Objectification.
Well, if this is your target, you got a BIIIIG Job ahead of you. I wonder how many of those people who are
CLAIMING that q104 is objectifying these women really, and truly have a sweet f’n
clue what they are talking about.
Objectification: to present as an object, especially of sight, touch, or other physical
sense.
So how many of you protesters own
Calendars? The firemen who raise funds
by getting half naked and posing for them? Girls on Cars in calendars. Oh...
how about the Bachelor Auctions? That is
a far better example of trafficking than what the Q is doing. But I guess it’s ok to buy a man for a night
if it’s for “charity”.
For those who simply have an issue with the name…..ever
hear of a Double Entendre? Yes the title
is a play on words. You should be responsible
for your own interpretation, not blame the writer.
My suggestion for all those who have a problem with
this, wake up and give your head a HAAAARD shake, and pull the proverbial stick
out of your ass. Do you REALLY think a radio
station (and a multiple major market award winner at that) would be permitted,
or even think of doing something illegal or immoral? The next time you ogle
that hot guy at the pool, or wink at that girl in the hallway, remember that is
objectifying too.
The Q is simply trying to give a chance to a man who needs
one. My advice to those who don’t like this or the
Q, turn your dial back about 4.2 MHZ. That’s
a safe boring place to live your sheltered existence without getting
offended.
To the Q: I am a
strong supporter, and am proud of your stance to NOT back down in the face of
adversity.
ROCK ON!

One thing I will comment on from other posters is that if you truly believe someone's rights might be trampled on....then you should do something...like protest...boycott. Whatever you can do...you should do. If you truly believe that someone might be harmed...you cannot "lighten up."
