Fergie is Truly A Star

I don’t usually say this, so you might want to remember it. I was wrong. What was I wrong about? Well I didn’t give a certain musical star her due. Stacy Ann Ferguson, know to the masses as Fergie. “The Dutchess” brought the Black Eyed Peas to the forefront when she signed on to front their third album, Elephunk. I said I didn’t give her the recognition she deserved, because aside from being esthetically pleasing, to this point her pop performances didn’t wow me. Being a rocker at heart, I care little for pop music. Her duet with hip hop star Nellie piqued my interest, but only slightly.


Enter Slash. The guitar virtuoso from Guns n Roses and a star in his own right. His new Album, entitled “Slash”, is a compilation of many singers/songwriters with Slash doing what he does best. Bending and pulling strings and making music like only he can. Fergie is featured twice on the disc, firstly in a track called "Beautiful Dangerous”, and then as a duet with Cyprus Hill on a remake of the G’N’R classic “Paradise City”. Fergie Vocals on Dangerous were reminiscent of Alanis Morrisette, and had a rock edge that I have never really seen in Fergie before. Though I wasn’t a big fan of the Paradise remix, ( sorry Slash) I felt Fergie’s Vocals were excellent.

I really wish that Fergie would drop the peas, Meet us Halfway, and bring her Humps to the Rock side.

As for the Album from Slash, it is arguably his best work yet. With singers like Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Chris Cornell, Andrew Stockdale from Wolf Mother, Lemmy and Beth Hart to name a few, it is clear that not only does Slash know how to play guitar, he knows good talent when he sees it.

The Dog is the Thing.......

                                      I know I’m about to APPEAR insensitive, but here me out first, I think I have a valid point.  So we have all heard of seeing Eye Dogs, and know the benefits they bring. I wonder if we are all aware of Hearing Ear Dogs? Here is What I found out about hearing ear dogs: For a person who is hearing impaired, the feeling of vulnerability and isolation can be overwhelming. A Hearing Dog is a dedicated assistant to such people — He will alert his master to important sounds, such as the sounds of a baby's cry, the telephone ringing, a knock at the door, an alarm clock, a kettle whistle, in addition to such danger signals as the sound of a smoke alarm, burglar alarm, or even the rustling of a prowler, by leading the owner.
